Hey everyone following Liv and our little world here❤️
It’s been a while since last update, it’s been a hectic few weeks since we had to be a couple of more days in hospital because of Liv’s Peritonitis, again it was a staph infection, but this time they injected a healthy dose of antibiotics directly into her tommy.
It took a few days but it quickly helped on the pain, we then had to do a few extra trips so they could monitor her progress and inject her every 4-5 days over three weeks with antibiotics! But now she is over this… aaaaannnd hopefully no more of these incidents - each time it happens, or something like it, it takes longer and longer to get the energy back and keep on going… but onward we must - but we really need for her to get a new kidney sooner than later, for her wellbeing, her development, for those chronic sleepless night and just in general for us, because we’re not sure how long we can hold it together as all things are and have been for much too long.
And speaking of new kidney, we also just got the news that Vitalia’s sister is not a match, sadly, we did hope, although knowing this could happen, but too many tissue didn’t match and if she got her kidney Liv’s little body would create too many antibodies which would mean that getting a new kidney down the line wouldn’t be an option.
The good thing with a live donor kidney would be that you could plan everything… So, now we got Liv her 3rd shot of Chicken Pox vaccine this Monday (the other 2 didn’t work due to her condition before we got her in dialysis proper) and this means in 4 weeks time Liv is getting on the big waiting list for a new kidney. And this is just as good, we just don’t know when to expect - it could be a few days it could go up to 6 months or longer, in which we have to be able to get going at a moment notice, they could call 03am and we have to shoot off. So it’s really hard to plan much and the uncertainty and all that… but, we are hopeful things will good fine indeed, as long as she gets a new kidney that’s the best match as possible. That’s all we really hope for.❤️
Although little Liv’s energy levels haven’t been her normal self for a long time we still do a lot of training as much as possible, in her new amazing space - thanks to all of you❤️ - and now also we have finally been able to get her on a treadmill at the physiotherapeutic school with her amazing physiotherapist - it’s still early days, but we have only managed two sessions and with help she walked for about 10 min it was so good to see, and she was exhausted afterwards
But it helps, we just hope we also can be able to get that going more in the future. Liv has lost a great deal of skills past two years. But she is a little fighter and they will come back once she has a new kidney and we can get more intense with all her training
It’s been a bit rough past few weeks but still hanging in there and remain hopeful for a rocking new kidney for Liv as soon as humanly possible. No more infections, viruses and no more setbacks no siree… it’s only onwards and upwards from now on☝️❤️
And lastly for now, thank you all again so much for the amazing support and kind words, they warm and makes a world of a difference, especially now more than ever going on waiting mode - thank you❤️
Big hugs and much love from the three of us here ❤️
